Matt Breida RB (SF)
Matt Breida Doesn't play against Dallas: Breida (pectoral) didn't play during Saturday's preseason opener against Dallas.
Our take: Breida has struggled with a chest injury of late, and although he was able to evade landing on the PUP list, he wasn't deemed fit to play in the first live action of the preseason. He will likely be brought along slowly until the regular season rolls around, meaning he could also potentially sit out next Monday against the Broncos.
Up until now, Matt Breida has been drafted at the 12.10 in PPR leagues.
How much this impacts Breida remains to be seen.
Tony Pollard RB (DAL)
Tony Pollard Starts in preseason opener: Pollard carried four times for 16 yards in Saturday's 17-9 preseason loss to the 49ers.
What it means: After making waves early in camp, Pollard earned the start with the first-team offense. He began their initial drive with a six-yard burst and carried three more times to help his side to a field goal. Pollard came out of college with a reputation as an impactful pass catcher, so perhaps the only real disappointment from this outing is that he didn't receive a single target. Still, Pollard seems to have caught the eye of his coaching staff and will look to take on a larger role next Saturday against the Rams.
The fantasy value of Tony Pollard is measured by his average draft position (ADP). The graph below shows how it's trending in the latest mock drafts . In recent drafts, Pollard's current ADP is 13.11
Keep an eye out on his value going forward.
DeAndre Washington RB (OAK)
DeAndre Washington Hits pay dirt in preseason win: Washington ran for 24 yards and a touchdown on six carries, while adding two receptions for 21 yards during Saturday's 14-3 win against Los Angeles.
Our take: Washington's stock in Oakland has been fading ever since his rookie season of 2016. The Raiders invested a fifth-round pick in the Texas Tech product, and he seemed to have a future with the franchise after rushing for 5.4 yards per attempt and racking up 582 scrimmage yards as Oakland made its first playoff appearance in 14 years. Over the past two seasons, however, Washington has seen his carries dip from 87 to 57 to 30, while his per-rush average has decreased to 3.1 yards per attempt. With Josh Jacobs, Doug Martin and Jalen Richard all currently ahead of him on the depth chart, Washington aims to continue producing this preseason so he can secure a spot on the active roster for a fourth straight year -- an outcome that remains possible but far from a foregone conclusion at this point.
Washington isn't currently being drafted in fantasy drafts right now.
Darwin Thompson RB (KC)
Darwin Thompson Totals 51 yards and a score: Thompson carried the ball five times for 22 yards against the Bengals in the team's first preseason contest. He also added one reception for 29 yards a touchdown.
Fantasy impact: Thompson led the team with five carries and had a few noteworthy runs, one of which he broke through several tackles to gain more yardage. However, the highlight of his night came on a slant pass over the middle as he outraced several Bengals' defenders for a 29-yard score. Thompson certainly took advantage of the opportunities he received and should continue to push for more touches out of the backfield, especially so long as Damien Williams (hamstring) is sidelined.
The fantasy value of Darwin Thompson is measured by his average draft position (ADP). The graph below shows how it's trending in the latest mock drafts. In recent drafts, Thompson's current ADP is 14.02
How much this impacts Thompson remains to be seen.
Carlos Hyde RB (KC)
Carlos Hyde Finds end zone: Hyde had two rushes for two yards and a touchdown against the Bengals in the team's first preseason contest.
Fantasy impact: Hyde was the lone back to receive a carry with the first team offense as Damien Williams is still nursing a hamstring injury. He wasn't given much opportunity, though he did manage to find the end zone on a one-yard rush to put the Chiefs up 7-0. Hyde will hope to force a committee approach in the team's backfield as the regular season approaches, and Williams' injury in training camp certainly helps his cause.
The fantasy value of Carlos Hyde is measured by his average draft position (ADP). The graph below shows how it's trending in the latest mock drafts. In recent drafts, Hyde's current ADP is 10.08
Watch out to see if Hyde's value changes in light of this update.
