Orlando Brown Jr., Charlie Jones Remain Out For Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. (leg) and wide receiver Charlie Jones (groin) are both inactive again for Week 16 against the division-rival Cleveland Browns on Sunday. This will mark Brown's third straight missed game and sixth overall this season since Week 9. With the 28-year-old out again, expect Cordell Volson to make another start at left tackle while protecting quarterback Joe Burrow's blind side. Jones, meanwhile, has not suited up for the Bengals since Week 8 due to his groin injury. The 26-year-old has played in eight games in his second season in the NFL in 2024 and has caught his only target for a five-yard gain. With Jones out yet again, Khalil Herbert and Isaiah Williams will handle return duties on special teams. Brown and Jones will try to get ready to return in what could be a pivotal contest in Week 17 against the Denver Broncos.

Charlie Jones Still Out For Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones (groin) remains out of action for the Week 15 contest on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Jones didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday but was upgraded to a full practice on Friday before being given a questionable tag for Sunday's game. However, the 26-year-old has been ruled out for his sixth straight game this weekend, meaning running back Khalil Herbert and Isaiah Williams should continue to serve as the team's kick and punt returners, respectively. Jones, a fourth-round selection in 2023, has played in only eight games in his second year in the NFL and has caught his only target for a five-yard gain. When healthy, he's primarily an option on special teams for the Bengals as a returner and is off the fantasy radar. He had seven catches for 64 yards and no touchdowns in 11 games as a rookie.

Charlie Jones Remains Out For Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones (groin), who was listed as questionable for Week 14 action, is officially out yet again for the Monday night contest against the Dallas Cowboys. It's the fifth straight game that Jones has missed. With the 26-year-old sidelined yet again, rookie Jermaine Burton should continue to see more involvement as the team's WR4 alongside Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas. Jones has seen a very little role in Cincy since he was taken in the 2023 draft in the fourth round. He has just one catch on his only target for a five-yard pickup in eight games that he's appeared in in 2024 and he caught seven of nine targets for 64 yards and no touchdowns in his first 11 NFL contests in his rookie campaign. Jones remains well off the fantasy radar.

Charlie Jones, Orlando Brown Limited Thursday

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones (groin) and left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. (fibula) both remained limited in practice on Thursday. Jones has missed three consecutive weeks and has just one catch for five yards during eight games this season. Brown has also missed three games in a row. He has a decent chance to play in Week 13, but if he's inactive, Cody Ford would likely step up as the Bengals' starting left tackle.

Charlie Jones Misses Another Practice

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones (groin) missed his second straight day of practice on Tuesday. The second-year wideout sat out of last week's game due to the same groin issue. There's a good chance that Jones misses Thursday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. His absence won't make much of a difference to this offense. Jones hasn't been targeted in the receiving game since the season opener. He has mainly been returning kicks, but Trenton Irwin took over that role for Jones last week. That figures to happen again if Jones is unable to play on Thursday.

Charlie Jones Activated From Injured Reserve

The Cincinnati Bengals officially activated wide receiver Charlie Jones (thumb) from Injured Reserve on Thursday, and he will be active for Thursday Night Football against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. The Bengals also elevated receiver Shedrick Jackson from the practice squad to the active roster with Tee Higgins (hamstring) missing a second straight game. Jones had been on IR since Sept. 29. The 25-year-old will merely provide receiver depth behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd and Trenton Irwin with rookie Andrei Iosivas (knee) also unavailable due to injury. Jones caught one pass for six yards in his first three NFL games before getting hurt.

Charlie Jones Ruled Out For Week 10

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones (thumb) was ruled out for Week 10 versus the Houston Texans. He had been designated to return from IR earlier this week but was never activated, making him ineligible to play. While Jones has just one catch this season and isn't typically a notable weapon for Cincinnati, his absence this week is noteworthy with Ja'Marr Chase (back) potentially limited and Tee Higgins (hamstring) inactive. Shedrick Jackson and Stanley Morgan will round out the bottom of the depth chart in Jones' absence.

Bengals Open 21-Day Window For Charlie Jones To Return

Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Charlie Jones (thumb) has been on Injured Reserve after suffering a thumb injury early in his debut campaign. On Wednesday, the Bengals opened the 21-day window to activate him from IR. Jones played in three games before being sidelined, catching just one pass for six yards. However, he returned eight punts for 150 yards and a touchdown. Getting him back would mean a boost to the Cincinnati special teams, but he's unlikely to enter the fantasy radar unless the Bengals' receiving corps picks up a ton of injuries. The 25-year-old can be safely ignored in redraft leagues.

Bengals Place Charlie Jones On Injured Reserve

The Cincinnati Bengals placed rookie wide receiver Charlie Jones (thumb) on Injured Reserve and acquired linebacker Devin Harper off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys in a corresponding move on Saturday. Jones, a rookie from Purdue, suffered a thumb injury in the Monday night win over the Los Angeles Rams, will now have to miss at least the next four games. The earliest the 24-year-old pass-catcher can return will be on Nov. 5 against the Buffalo Bills. In his first three NFL games, the fourth-round selection had just one catch for a six-yard gain on two targets. Jones also returned eight punts for 150 total yards on special teams.
