Sheehy-Guiseppi (ribs) has been cleared to return to Saturday's preseason tilt against the Colts, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Sheehy-Guiseppi was initially labeled as questionable with his rib injury. Thankfully for the undrafted rookie it appears to have been nothing serious. He's looking to secure a roster spot as the punt and kick returner for Cleveland.
Sheehy-Guiseppi exited Saturday's game due to a rib injury and is questionable to return, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Sheehy-Guiseppi was looking at an uphill battle at a roster spot but he's impressed in camp. He recorded an 86-yard punt return touchdown in the Browns' first preseason game and has a real shot at hanging on as the team's kick and punt returner. The severity of his rib injury is unclear. His chances at the final roster will be increasingly slim the longer he's sidelined with the issue.
Sheehy-Guiseppi is one of four contenders for the Browns' kick returning duties next season, Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official site reports.
Analysis: While two members of his competition, Antonio Callaway and Dontrell Hilliard, have NFL experience as kick returners, Sheehy-Guiseppi signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent after leading the NJCAA in kick return yards and kick return touchdowns in 2018. D'Ernest Johnson marks the fourth member of the competition after spending time in the AAF.
