The New Orleans Saints signed quarterback Jake Luton to their 53-man roster from their practice squad on Tuesday. Luton's signing is a good indication that the team is preparing to be without starting quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) for the near future. Luton will serve as the team's backup QB while Jameis Winston runs the offense in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
