Jason Myers News

Makes all four kicks

Myers did not attempt a field goal but made all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 28-16 win over the Colts.

Analysis: Myers was restricted to PAT duties but was successful every time he was called upon. The veteran will hope to maintain his perfect record while getting some field-goal opportunities in Week 2 versus the Titans.

Drills 40-yarder

Myers connected on his lone field-goal attempt -- a 40-yard kick -- during Saturday's 30-3 preseason loss to the Broncos.

Analysis: The Seahawks didn't bring in any competition for Myers after the 30-year-old made all 24 field-goal attempts last season, including 15 from beyond 40 yards. Myers should be selected as a starter in fantasy this season.

Continues success in postseason

Myers connected on both field-goal attempts and both extra-point tries in Saturday's 30-20 wild-card loss to the Rams.

Analysis: Myers hit field goals from 50 and 52 yards, capping off a perfect season in terms of field-goal attempts. The 29-year-old made all 26 field-goal tries over 18 games this season, including four attempts from beyond 50 yards and 15 attempts from beyond 40 yards. Myers has now hit 37 consecutive field goals dating back to the 2019 season, and he'll look to keep that streak running in 2021, as he's under contract for two more years.

Perfect on field goals in 2020

Myers connected on both field-goal attempts and two of three extra-point tries in Sunday's 26-23 win over the 49ers.

Analysis: Myers hit two field goals from 36 and 30 yards in the first half, keeping his streak alive with 35 straight made field goals dating back to last year. The 29-year-old has been a bit shaky on PATs, however, as he has made just 49 of 53 extra-point tries. Myers finishes the 2020 season 13th in the league with 121 points.

Extends field-goal streak

Hollister made both field-goal attempts and both extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-9 win over the Rams.

Analysis: Myers connected on field goals from 45 and 49 yards, extending his streak -- which dates back to last season -- to 33 straight made field goals. The 29-year-old kicker has converted 15 field-goal tries from beyond 40 yards this year as well. He'll look to stay perfect in a Week 17 matchup against the 49ers.

Sets record in Sunday's win

Myers connected on both field-goal attempts and both extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-15 win over Washington.

Analysis: Myers made field goals from 43 and 40 yards. With his second field goal of the afternoon, Myers set a Seahawks record of 31 straight made field goals in the regular season, dating back to Week 10 of last year. Myers has been automatic, and he's up to 102 points this season.

Makes six kicks in rout

Myers made two field-goal attempts and four of five extra-point tries in Sunday's 40-3 win over the Jets.

Analysis: Myers made field goals from 29 and 41 yards, extending his streak to 18 straight field goals without a miss this year. He and Mason Crosby are the only two kickers without a field-goal miss this season. However, Myers did misfire on an extra point for the third time since Week 8. He'll look to get back to perfect in Week 15 against Washington.

Makes both kicks Sunday

Myers connected on his lone field-goal attempt and his only extra-point try in Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Giants.

Analysis: Myers made a 31-yarder on the opening drive, and the Seahawks didn't trot him out to attempt another field goal, opting to punt from the Giants' 37-yard line and 42-yard line. It was an odd display of risk aversion, even for the Seahawks. Myers hasn't missed a field goal this season and has connected on both of his tries from beyond 50 yards, including a league-long 61-yarder. He'll look to get more chances against a soft Jets defense in Week 14.

Knocks in five kicks

Myers made all three field-goal attempts and two extra-point tries in Monday's 23-17 win over the Eagles.

Analysis: The woes of the early portion of the season -- when he attempted just two field goals over five weeks -- are long gone, and Myers is getting the opportunities that a kicker attached to the Seahawks' offense would expect. He has attempted, and converted on, 10 field goals over the last four games. The 29-year-old now ranks 13th among kickers with 83 points this season.

Remains perfect on field goals

Myers connected on two field goals and made two of three extra-point attempts in Thursday's 28-21 win over the Cardinals.

Analysis: Myers nailed field goals from 27 and 41 yards and has now connected on all 12 field-goal attempts this season, but he missed his second extra point of the season in the second quarter. After failing to garner many opportunities over the first five weeks of the season, Myers has now averaged two field-goal attempts per game over the past five outings.

Drills 61-yard field goal

Myers made all three field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point attempt in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Rams.

Analysis: This was the first time this season that Myers attempted more than two field goals in a game, and he kept his perfect streak alive, connecting on tries from 33, 39 and 61 yards. The 61-yarder is Myers' career high, a franchise record and the league's longest kick of 2020. It was an impressive performance by Myers, and it was a good sign for his fantasy outlook, as the Seahawks' offense has slowed down, allowing him to kick eight field goals over four weeks.

Remains perfect on field goals

Myers made both field-goal attempts and all four extra points in Sunday's 44-34 loss to the Bills.

Analysis: Myers finally got some tread, as the Bills' defense was able to slow down the Seahawks on Sunday, allowing the kicker to attempt more than one field goal for just the second time this year. He connected on both, and now he's perfect on seven field-goal attempts this year, all of which came from beyond 40 yards. It's been frustrating to roster Myers in fantasy this season, as being part of the highest-scoring offense in the league often merits more work. His value seems to be trending up, however, as he's made five field goals and 12 extra points over the last three weeks.

Misses extra point

Myers made a 48-yard field goal but missed one of five extra-point attempts in Sunday's 37-27 win over the 49ers.

Analysis: Myers remains perfect on field goals this season, as he's connected on five of five attempts, all coming from beyond 40 yards. He leads the league with 30 extra-point attempts, an expected result of being attached to the league's best offense, but he's rarely trotted out for a field goal because the Seahawks have converted on a league-high 88 percent of red-zone trips. The numbers signal that regression should be on the horizon, as no team has converted on more than 78 percent of red-zone trips since the 2010 season, but this offense shows no signs of slowing down. Myers could be a frustrating, low-upside fantasy kicker as a result, but he's provided some solace by making at least four extra points each week.

Connects on two field goals

Myers hit both field-goal attempts and all four extra points in Sunday's 37-34 loss to the Cardinals.

Analysis: The Seahawks' hyper-efficient offense left Myers in the dark over the first five games, as he attempted two field goals and a whopping 21 extra points in that stretch, connecting on each one. The Cardinals stopped the Seahawks a couple of times in the first half, affording Myers a chance to make up for lost time with field goals from 41 and 44 yards. The Seahawks still lead the league in red-zone percentage (85.7), but Myers is still attached to the league's highest-scoring offense and should be rostered in fantasy formats. He has a favorable Week 8 matchup, too, as the 49ers' defense has allowed opponents to score on just 46.7 percent of red-zone trips, third in the league.

Extra points only

Myers connected on all three extra-point attempts in Sunday's 27-26 win over the Vikings.

Analysis: Myers continues to be perfect this season, but he's not being challenged much. The 29-year-old kicker has made all 21 extra points this season, and he's attempted just two field goals, making both tries from beyond 40 yards. Being attached to the second-highest scoring offense in the league is usually a fantasy kicker's dream, but the Seahawks have converted on a league-high 88.9 percent of red-zone trips and have been more willing to go for it on fourth down, leaving minimal opportunities for Myers. Since 2010, no team has found the end zone on more than 78 percent of its red-zone opportunities, so the Seahawks should be due for some regression. Perhaps that will come against the Cardinals in Week 7, as they have allowed a 42.9 red-zone conversion rate -- second in the league.

Oct 12, 2020 8:46 AM EST

Drills all five kicks

Myers connected on a 55-yard field goal and four extra points in Sunday's 31-23 win over the Dolphins.

Analysis: Myers went two games without even attempting a field goal, but a rare Tyler Lockett drop set him up for a deep try in the first half. Myers nailed it along with four extra points to stay perfect on the season. The Seahawks have converted on 13 of 15 red-zone trips (86.7 percent) this season -- first in the league -- so it's a bit concerning for Myers' fantasy outlook. While this offense is likely matchup-proof, the Vikings' red-zone defense ranks second in the league, allowing opponents to score just 41.2 percent of the time, so perhaps Myers will have more opportunities in Week 5.

Remains perfect in 2020

Myers hit all four extra points in Sunday's 38-31 win over the Cowboys.

Analysis: Myers hasn't attempted a field goal since Week 1, but he's still getting plenty of work with Russell Wilson torching opponents for 14 touchdowns through three weeks. Extra points don't get it done for fantasy purposes, but there's no reason to cut Myers loose since he's attached to this high-powered offense.

Sep 28, 2020 12:20 PM EST

Drills five extra points

Myers made all five extra points in Sunday's 35-30 win over the Patriots.

Analysis: The Seahawks took three trips to the red zone, but Russell Wilson tossed a touchdown each time, adding two more deep TD passes as well. That meant Myers didn't get any field goal opportunities in Week 2, although he was perfect on extra points. It's disappointing for fantasy managers, but the Seahawks won't be able to keep up Sunday's red-zone efficiency, so he's due for positive regression in Week 3 versus the Cowboys.

Sep 21, 2020 11:56 AM EST

Perfect in Week 1

Myers connected on a 42-yard field goal and all five extra-point attempts in Sunday's 38-25 win over the Falcons.

Analysis: Myers hit ever field goal from within 40 yards but just 55 percent from beyond 40 last season. He's off to a good start in 2020. With Russell Wilson nearly perfect Sunday, Myers' padded his extra-point stats, but he'll hope for more field-goal tries next week against the Patriots, whose red-zone defense ranked fourth (48.3 percent) last season.

Gets $1.5 million guaranteed

Myers has a $1.5 million contract guarantee kicking in Friday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: Given that the guarantee accounts for 57.7 percent of Myers' $2.6 million base salary, the Seahawks presumably would've cut him before Friday if they didn't intend to keep him as their starting kicker for 2020. The 28-year-old is entering the second season of a four-year, $15.45 million contract, after converting 23 of 28 field-goal attempts (82.1 percent) and 40 of 44 PATs (90.9 percent) in 2019. The Seahawks attempted fewer than 30 field goals each of the past three seasons, in part because they tend to play at a slow pace early in games, and in part because Russell Wilson is so efficient in the red zone.
