Marvin Mims Jr. Not Making Enough Big Plays to be Fantasy Relevant

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. had a disappointing third year in the NFL, catching 37 of 51 targets for a career-low 322 yards and only one touchdown in 15 regular-season games. He added 12 rushing attempts for 78 yards and one touchdown. Last year, he caught only two more passes, but he went for 503 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 17 games. Mims, known as a big-play receiver, had just 8.7 yards per reception and 21.5 yards per game. He was a victim of quarterback Bo Nix spreading the ball around in 2025, and the emergence of both Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant as receiving threats behind WR1 Courtland Sutton. Mims' only receiving score of the year came way back on Sept. 14, and he eclipsed 50 receiving yards just two times all year. Regardless of who Denver faces in the Divisional Round of the postseason, Mims will be a low-upside WR3/flex option for fantasy managers in playoff leagues.

Marvin Mims Jr. Earning More Consistent Role in Denver

Across 14 games in 2025, Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. has recorded 35 receptions for 312 yards and a touchdown on 48 targets. Mims Jr. has struggled to carve out a consistent role in the Denver offense for most of the season to this point. However, the 23-year-old played 47% of the Broncos' offensive snaps in Week 17, his highest snap share in any game since Week 1. He's also earned 13 targets over the last three weeks after seeing just four targets across four games played from Week 8 to Week 14. With Denver wideout Pat Bryant (concussion) battling a concussion, Mims Jr. could see his increased usage continue in Week 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mims Jr. is also one of the NFL's most explosive big-play threats in the open field, so he's a threat to turn even a small number of touches into big production. His stock could be on the rise heading into Week 18.

Marvin Mims Jr. Returns to Sunday's Game

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) has returned to Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. Mims was being evaluated for a potential concussion but was able to quickly return to action. With rookie Pat Bryant (hamstring) unable to suit up this weekend, Mims is expected to continue to operate as the team's No. 3 WR behind Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin. Mims immediately made an impact after returning, tallying a nine-yard reception on their scoring drive in the third quarter, which ended with Sutton bringing a 14-yard TD pass from Bo Nix.

Marvin Mims Jr. Being Evaluated for Concussion

The Denver Post's Parker Gabriel reports that Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) has exited Sunday's matchup with the Green Bay Packers to be evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return. Mims was forced from the contest in the first half, hauling in his lone target for a gain of five yards. With teammate Pat Bryant (hamstring) already having been ruled out before the contest with an issue of his own, Denver would be pretty thin at wide receiver. With the former second-round pick on the sideline, fellow wideouts Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Michael Bandy figure to pick up some extra snaps. As it stands, Humphrey, Bandy, Courtland Sutton, and Troy Franklin are the only remaining WRs without an injury designation on the active roster.

Marvin Mims Jr. Offers Little Value for Fantasy Playoffs

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. enjoyed an early-season stretch that saw him finish as a top 20 fantasy wideout in two of four weeks, topping out at WR8 in a Week 4 win over the Bengals. Over the past seven weeks, though, he has been a non-factor for fantasy, missing time with a concussion, and seeing little involvement since returning in Week 13. Heading into the first round of the fantasy playoffs, he no longer needs to be rostered, and he projects as RotoBaller's WR70 in a Week 15 matchup with a Packers defense that has been top-10 for most of the season at limiting opposing fantasy wide receivers.

Broncos to Get Marvin Mims Jr. More Involved?

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton said on Monday that he wants to get wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. more involved in the offense, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports. "We got to find more touches on the offensive side of the ball. And we'll do that," Payton said, adding that the coaching staff talked about it in a staff meeting. Mims caught his only target in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, gaining five yards. Although he was barely a factor on offense, Mims still made an impact, returning a punt 48 yards for a touchdown in the first half. The Broncos continue to say that they want to get the 23-year-old big-play threat more involved, but they've failed to do so, as he has only 25 catches for 247 yards and one TD on 35 targets through 14 weeks after he had a 39-503-6 line in 17 regular-season games in 2024. Mims is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, but the volume just has not been there while being behind Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, and rookie Pat Bryant on the WR depth chart.

Marvin Mims Jr. Hard to Trust Right Now

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. has barely been used in the offensive gameplan over the last few weeks. Mims has seen one target over his last three games and hasn't hauled in a pass since Week 7. That being said, Mims isn't someone worth targeting ahead of the Week 13 matchup against the Washington Commanders. The 23-year-old currently sits as the fourth wideout on this depth chart, which isn't offering fantasy value right now. He's young enough that he's worth stashing in dynasty leagues, but Mims appears to be a safe drop candidate in redraft formats ahead of Week 13.

Marvin Mims Jr. Hasn't Caught a Pass Since Week 7

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. probably finds himself on the waiver wire in most fantasy football leagues with the Broncos headed on their bye in Week 12. Mims caught six of seven targets for a season-high 85 yards in the team's miraculous comeback win over the New York Giants in Week 7, but then he suffered a concussion the following week against the Dallas Cowboys and missed Weeks 9 and 10. In his return to action in Sunday's big win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the 23-year-old played a season-low 24% of the offensive snaps and was not targeted at all. The former second-rounder still has plenty of big-play ability, but during his time away with a concussion, Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant became more involved on offense, and that could continue in Week 13 for a Sunday night contest against Washington. Until further notice, Mims is off the fantasy radar as Denver's WR4.

Marvin Mims Jr. Cleared to Face Chiefs on Sunday

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) was able to practice in full this week and has been cleared to face the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Week 11. Mims suffered a concussion in Week 8 and missed the last two games, but he'll be back as the Broncos look to separate themselves further atop the AFC West division. It's good news for a struggling Denver offense, but things won't get any easier this weekend against a tough KC defense that is coming off its bye. The 23-year-old Mims is a big play waiting to happen, but he hasn't had enough volume in 2025 to be a realistic WR4/flex play in 12-team fantasy football leagues. Coming into Week 11, has taken a back seat to second-year man Troy Franklin, catching 22 of 32 targets for 234 yards and one touchdown in eight games. Mims' return will also put a dent in Franklin's upside in a bad matchup.

Marvin Mims Jr. Logs Another Full Practice Thursday

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) was a full participant in practice again on Thursday. The 23-year-old posted inconsistent results when healthy earlier this season, operating behind Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin. Mims performs best in big-play scenarios and special teams returns, but he's shown some trouble consistently producing ahead of Sutton and Franklin. The 23-year-old is expected to play in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but he'll merely rank as a WR5.

Marvin Mims Jr. Goes Through Full Practice Session

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) was able to get through a full practice session on Wednesday. This is a step in the right direction for Mims who sat out last week's win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Mims has missed the last two games due to a concussion, but has a chance to return in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He'll need to clear concussion protocol before being eligible to return to game action, but a full session of practice is a step in the right direction. Mims should have a role behind Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin in this passing attack.

Marvin Mims Jr. to Miss a Second Straight Game

Despite being listed as limited in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Denver Broncos have ruled out wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) for a second straight game for the Week 10 matchup against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. Mims suffered a concussion in the Week 8 win over the Dallas Cowboys and was unable to play in Sunday's victory over the Houston Texans. He'll miss his second straight game, but hopefully he'll clear the league's concussion protocol in time to suit up for a crucial divisional contest next week against the Kansas City Chiefs. With the 23-year-old sidelined again, Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant will once again have additional opportunities to make noise in the passing attack in a plus matchup behind WR1 Courtland Sutton. Tight end Evan Engram should also bounce back after posting a donut last week.

Marvin Mims Jr. Returned to Practice on Tuesday

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) was able to return to the practice field on Tuesday. This is positive news after Mims began the week on the sidelines during Monday's estimated practice. Mims has been out since suffering a concussion during the Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. He remains in concussion protocol, but Mims has a chance to suit up for Thursday's Week 10 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Fantasy managers should check back on Wednesday for another update on his status.

Marvin Mims Jr. Misses Monday's Estimated Practice

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) was listed as a non-participant during Monday's estimated practice. Mims suffered a concussion during the Week 8 win over the Dallas Cowboys. As a result, Mims wasn't able to practice all week and sat out in Week 9. Now, there's a decent chance Mims isn't ready to play in Week 10 with a quick turnaround against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday. There is still time for Mims to get cleared, but he's not trending in the right direction. Both Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin figure to both gain value if Mims is unable to play

Marvin Mims Jr. Ruled Out With Concussion

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) has been officially ruled out for the Week 9 contest on the road this Sunday against the Houston Texans. Mims suffered a concussion in last week's blowout victory over the Dallas Cowboys and was unable to practice at all this week. With a quick turnaround coming for a Week 10 divisional matchup on Thursday night next week against the Las Vegas Raiders, Mims may miss another game. The 23-year-old pass-catcher has been a borderline rosterable bench player in 12-team fantasy leagues this year with 22 receptions for 234 yards and just one touchdown. Mims has had a couple of boom games, but outside of that, he's been a bust in fantasy. With Mims sidelined this Sunday, look for Troy Franklin to have a higher ceiling as the team's WR2 behind Courtland Sutton.

Marvin Mims Jr. Looking Unlikely to Play Against Texans

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) is missing his second straight day of practice this week on Thursday due to a concussion that he suffered in the Week 8 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports. Mims still has one more day to try and get back on the practice field, but as of now, things aren't looking good for him getting cleared to play this Sunday in Houston against the Texans. The 23-year-old continues to be a boom-or-bust WR4/flex option in deeper fantasy leagues in Denver's offense in 2025, having posted only two double-digit-point performances in half-PPR scoring through eight weeks. Mims also has five games where he's recorded under 5.0 half-PPR points. Second-year wideout Troy Franklin has been more consistent than Mims, is coming off a two-touchdown game, and will be the primary beneficiary if Mims is inactive this weekend.

Marvin Mims Jr. in Concussion Protocol, Misses Wednesday's Practice

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) is in the league's concussion protocol and was unable to practice on Wednesday, according to Mike Klis of 9 News in Denver. Mims suffered a concussion in last Sunday's blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys and is now in danger of missing his first game of the 2025 season in Week 9 versus the Houston Texans. He will first need to get back on the practice field on Thursday or Friday, but even if he does, Mims could be facing an uphill battle to get cleared by an independent neurologist ahead of Sunday's contest. The 23-year-old has so far been overshadowed by second-year wideout Troy Franklin in Denver's offense. If Mims is active, he'll continue to be a boom-or-bust flex option for fantasy managers. Mims has only two games with double-digit, half-PPR points through eight weeks and has scored just once.

Marvin Mims Jr. Enters Concussion Protocol

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. entered concussion protocol following Sunday's Week 8 contest against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post. The team never announced an injury status for Mims mid-game, so it's unclear exactly when he suffered the injury. It may have occurred with 4:39 left in the fourth quarter when Mims returned a kick 26 yards. He finished the game with two punt returns and three kick returns. On offense, he was unable to haul in his lone target. The 23-year-old faces an uphill battle to clear concussion protocol in the seven days between now and Denver's Week 9 contest against the Houston Texans. Perhaps Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders is a more reasonable date to target for Mims' return to action. Pat Bryant will likely step up as the Broncos' No. 3 receiver behind Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin.

Marvin Mims Jr. Trending Up Ahead of Potential Shootout

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. saw a season-high workload last week, and he'll look to carry that momentum into Sunday's Week 8 contest against the Dallas Cowboys. Mims tied his season-high snap share (53%) in last week's victory and caught six of seven targets for 85 yards. His involvement took a significant leap, which is a very encouraging sign for this weekend's contest against Dallas. The Cowboys have played in plenty of shootouts this year, and we could see a similar scenario unfold on Sunday. Dallas has allowed the most offense (401.6 yards per game) this season, as well as the most passing yards per game (260.3). Meanwhile, the Cowboys' defense has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing receivers in 2025, as well as the third-most receiving yards (1,182) and the most touchdowns (12). There is an opportunity for several Broncos pass catchers to feast on Sunday, and Mims is one of them. As a deep threat with an increased role on offense, Mims has suddenly emerged as a potential WR3/flex in deeper leagues.

Marvin Mims Jr. To Run More Routes Going Forward?

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. had his best game of the season in the team's wild comeback win over the Giants in Week 7, catching six of his seven targets for 85 yards and adding a carry for 13 yards. Mims ran a season high 56.6% of the routes and delivered his most receiving yards in a game since Week 17 last season against the Bengals. The 23-year-old has played in a rotational role for the most part this season while also playing a key role on special teams, returning punts and kicks. Head coach Sean Payton likes to rotate his receivers, but Mims could be in line for more opportunities in a potential shootout in Week 8 against the Cowboys after his strong showing in Week 7.
