The Colts signed Kalinic to the active roster from the practice squad Tuesday.

Head back to practice squad

Kalinic reverted to the Colts' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Analysis: Kalinic was activated for the third game in a row with top tight end Kyle Granson (illness) ruled inactive for the first time this season. However, the 25-year-old did not record a statistic and played just six offensive snaps behind fellow tight ends Jelani Woods (41) and Mo Allie-Cox (22). Kalinic will now require a permanent spot on the active roster to continue suiting up on game days for Indianapolis this season.

Joins active roster for Monday

Indianapolis elevated Kalinic from its practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of their game versus Pittsburgh on Monday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Kalinic looks primed to suit up for a third consecutive week with regular starting tight end Kylen Granson (illness) listed as doubtful for Monday night. The undrafted rookie has essentially functioned as a third offensive tackle on the snaps which he's played through two games this season.

Heads back to practice squad

Kalinic reverted to the Colts' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Analysis: The undrafted rookie was elevated for the second game in a row as tight end Jelani Woods (shoulder) remained sidelined Week 11. As a result, Kalinic played 17 offensive snaps while slotting in as the Colts' third-string tight end behind Mo Allie-Cox (40) and Kylen Granson (25). While the 6-foot-4 Kalinic once again went untargeted in the passing game, he could have a chance to record his first NFL reception if Woods does not return for Monday Night Football against Pittsburgh in Week 12.

Elevated to active roster

Kalinic was elevated to the active roster Saturday.

Analysis: Kalinic was called up to the active roster for the second straight week, as rookie tight end Jelani Woods (shoulder) will be out once again. Kalinic will serve as the third-string tight end behind Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox, and should expect most of his playing time to come on special teams.
