Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Riley Leonard (knee) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Leonard was able to practice in full all week despite suffering a low-grade PCL sprain during last week's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was forced into action after Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon. Leonard completed 18 of 29 passing attempts for 145 yards with an interception in relief of Jones and also rushed the ball twice for five yards and a touchdown on the ground. With Jones out for the year and Leonard hurt, the Colts went out and signed 44-year-old Philip Rivers this week. The Colts haven't revealed whether they'll go with Rivers or Leonard against Seattle. Given his ability to move the ball with his legs, Leonard is probably more appealing from a fantasy perspective. However, all signs are pointing to Rivers making his first NFL start since 2020 in Week 15 on the road in Seattle.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Riley Leonard (knee) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday. Leonard is reportedly batting a low-grade PCL sprain in his knee, but his ability to fully participate in practice could mean he's trending towards being active for Indianapolis' Week 15 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. With Colts quarterback Daniel Jones (Achilles) done for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon, the team made waves by bringing 44-year-old Philip Rivers out of retirement earlier this week. It's unclear at this point whether the team is planning to start Rivers or Leonard in Week 15, regardless of Leonard's health status. Either way, fantasy managers would likely be wise to avoid whoever is playing quarterback for the Colts in a tough matchup against Seattle.

Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Riley Leonard (knee) was listed as a full practice participant on Wednesday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Leonard was considered week-to-week after suffering a Grade 1 PCL sprain in his knee following Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but a full practice on Wednesday suggests he has a real chance to play in Week 15 against the Seattle Seahawks. Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending torn Achilles on Sunday, prompting the Colts to sign 44-year-old QB Philip Rivers for insurance at the position. Anthony Richardson Sr. (eye) remains on Injured Reserve. It's unclear at this point whether it'll be Leonard or Rivers under center this weekend, and the Colts don't plan to make up their mind until later this week. Either way, Indy's offense takes a hit. Expect a lot of hand-offs to star running back Jonathan Taylor.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said on Wednesday that rookie quarterback Riley Leonard (knee), who has a Grade 1 PCL sprain, will practice this week, but his status for the Week 15 game on Sunday against the hosting Seattle Seahawks is up in the air, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. "We'll see," Steichen said on Leonard's status. Daniel Jones (Achilles) is done for the year, and Anthony Richardson Sr. (eye) remains on Injured Reserve, so the Colts went out and signed 44-year-old Philip Rivers to their practice squad this week. If Leonard is unable to play in Seattle this weekend, it's very possible that Rivers will get the start in his first NFL action since the 2020 season. PCL sprains typically sideline players for multiple weeks, so it would be a bit of a surprise if Leonard made the start for Indy in Seattle. Brett Rypien is the only other QB on the Colts' roster at the moment. The 23-year-old Leonard went 18-for-29 passing for 145 yards and an interception while also running in a TD in place of Jones in last week's loss to the Jaguars.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Riley Leonard (knee) has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 PCL sprain, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Leonard was forced into action in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars after Colts QB1 Daniel Jones (Achilles) suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon. Leonard completed 18 of 29 pass attempts for 145 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception against Jacksonville. With Leonard's status in doubt, Jones sidelined, and quarterback Anthony Richardson (eye) on Injured Reserve, the Colts are bringing 44-year-old quarterback Philip Rivers in for a workout on Tuesday. Journeyman signal-caller Brett Rypien would be the only competition for Rivers if the Colts bring him out of retirement and Leonard is not healthy enough to play. While Leonard would likely be the team's preferred option, this knee injury may force Indianapolis to resort to desperate measures.

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Riley Leonard (knee) is dealing with a strained right-knee ligament and is "week-to-week," a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN. The Colts are unsure if Leonard will be able to play in Seattle against the Seahawks in Week 15 on Sunday. Leonard was forced into action in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars after starter Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon. With Anthony Richardson Sr. (eye) still on Injured Reserve and potentially unable to play the rest of the year, Indy would be down to Brett Rypien at the QB position if Leonard is unable to play this weekend. The Colts reportedly will work out 44-year-old QB Philip Rivers, who last played in 2020, on Tuesday. Regardless of who is starting under center for the Colts the rest of the way, it's going to be a major fantasy downgrade for all of Indy's offensive skill players, namely star running back Jonathan Taylor.

Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Riley Leonard (knee) is dealing with a knee injury that leaves his status for Sunday's game in Seattle against the Seahawks uncertain, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. It's pretty concerning for a Colts team that unfortunately lost starting QB Daniel Jones in the Week 14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars with a season-ending torn Achilles tendon. Former first-rounder Anthony Richardson Jr. (eye) remains on Injured Reserve and may not play again this season following orbital surgery, so the Colts are extremely thin at the most important position on the field. Leonard, 23, went 18-for-29 passing for 145 yards with no touchdowns and an interception on Sunday after taking over for Jones, and he added a rushing touchdown on two carries. If Leonard's knee injury keeps him from playing in Seattle, Brett Rypien would be the next man up in Indy under center.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Riley Leonard completed 15 of his 20 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown and added a 14-yard rush in a 41-14 preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday. Leonard got the start and looked sharp in the contest, finding Laquon Treadwell for a 59-yard touchdown in the second quarter. The Colts used a sixth-round pick on the former Notre Dame QB in this past NFL draft and he appears likely to open the year as the team's third quarterback behind Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson Sr. The Colts will now begin preparing for Week 1 and the Miami Dolphins.

The Indianapolis Colts have selected Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard with the 189th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. A Duke transfer, Leonard racked up 2,861 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, and eight interceptions during his one and only season with the Fighting Irish. He also rushed for 906 yards and another 17 touchdowns on the ground. Leonard is capable of making big, accurate throws down the field, but he can also keep defenses guessing with his ability to roll out of the pocket and make plays. He joins a Colts quarterback room that features two other mobile quarterbacks, Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. Leonard likely won't earn playing time in Week 1, but with glaring quarterback questions in Indianapolis, he could push for an opportunity to earn snaps down the stretch.

Ohio State quarterback Will Howard and Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard will both play in the 2025 Senior Bowl ahead of the NFL draft in April. In addition to Howard and Leonard, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel and Louisville QB Tyler Shough will be putting their talents on display. Howard, 23, won the national title for the Buckeyes and threw for 1,150 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions in four playoff games to potentially boost his draft stock in scouts' eyes. He had the best year of his collegiate career at Ohio State in 2024 after spending his first three seasons at Kansas State. Howard completed 73% of his passes for 4,010 yards and 35 TDs in 16 games. In a weak QB draft class, Howard could boost his stock even further with a strong Senior Bowl performance and could become a second-round selection in April.
