Washington Redskins running back Samaje Perine is likely to open 2018 as the Redskins' starter, according to NBC Washington's Rich Tandler. Perine failed to impress as a rookie, averaging 3.4 YPC with just two touchdowns in eight starts. An injured offensive line was part of the problem, and the Redskins history of not investing at running back makes Perine the favorite for early-down work. Perine's limited pass game role and the presence of Rob Kelley are concerns to his outlook, but there is some scoring potential if he returns as Washington's red-zone back.
