Fails physical, waived

The Jaguars have waived McGowan (knee) after he failed a physical, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis: McGowan spent the entire 2019 season on injured reserve with a knee injury. His failed physical indicates he has not fully recovered. He will now be free to find a new opportunity once his health allows it

Moves to IR

McGowan (knee) reverted to Jacksonville's injured reserve Friday per the NFL communication's official transaction log.

Analysis: McGowan has gone unclaimed after being waived/injured by the Jaguars. He now faces the possibility of spending his entire season on the sidelines, that is if he and the team cannot come to terms on an injury settlement.

Waived/injured by Jacksonville

McGown (knee) was placed on the waived/injured list by the Jaguars on Wednesday, Phillip Heilman of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: McGown was sidelined during practice Wednesday, and will hit the waiver wire while dealing with a knee injury. If he goes unclaimed, however, McGown will revert back to the Jaguars' injured reserve list. The team filled his roster void by signing fellow running back Devante Mays on Wednesday.

Unable to practice Wednesday

McGowan (knee) was sidelined during Wednesday's practice, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Analysis: It's unclear how McGowan picked up the injury, but it's serious enough to force him to miss practice time. McGowan signed as an undrafted free agent this offseason, after rushing for 470 yards and eight scores in 13 games for Central Florida. The Jaguars' running back depth is a bit thin at the moment, with him and Thomas Rawls (hamstring) tending to injuries.
