Deebo Samuel Sr. News

Deebo Samuel Sr. Could Benefit From Teammates' Injuries

Saturday, October 3, 12:21 AM

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. made history in Week 3 with his 80-yard touchdown off a lateral from Mike Evans (ribs). Samuel finished that game without receiving a pass from quarterback Brock Purdy, which gave him the dubious honor of having the most receiving yards without a catch in an NFL game. Samuel wasn't even targeted in the game, but he should be more involved in Week 4 against the Broncos, with Mike Evans (ribs) a game-time decision and Demarcus Robinson (ankle) joining De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle) and Christian Kirk (calf) on injured reserve. On paper, Samuel's matchup is not easy, but last week the Rams were able to exploit Denver's secondary to the tune of 390 passing yards. Samuel is projected as a WR3 in Week 4. His explosive play ability and potential for increased involvement in the 49ers' offense make him worth starting on Sunday.

Jaylen Warren News

Jaylen Warren Carries Fringe RB1 Status on Thursday Night Football

Wednesday, September 30, 4:58 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren had a career-best performance in Week 3 and should continue to operate in a workhorse role against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4. With Rico Dowdle (toe) set to miss a second consecutive contest, Warren's competition for snaps will likely remain Travis Homer and Lew Nichols, who combined for two total touches last week. Warren, meanwhile, handled 17 carries and four targets, turning his 21 opportunities into 176 yards. Cleveland looks like a tough matchup for fantasy running backs on paper, but it is surrendering 4.75 yards per rush attempt to the position, the fifth-highest mark in the league. However, the Browns have yet to allow a rushing touchdown through three games. Fantasy managers should view this as a middle-of-the-road matchup but remain confident in Warren as a volume-based top-12 fantasy option.
