Deebo Samuel Sr. Catches TD In Reunion With 49ers

Thursday, September 10, 11:30 PM

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. was productive in his first game back with the team in their season opener against the Rams despite his limited role. Samuel entered the game from the bench and finished with six catches for 48 yards and one touchdown on seven targets. The versatile veteran also handled one carry for 12 rushing yards and two kickoffs for 74 return yards. Samuel ranked third in snap share among the 49ers' wide receivers behind Mike Evans and Demarcus Robinson, and likely would have finished behind De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle) had the rookie not exited the game due to an injury in the second quarter. The vague receiver roles and frequent rotations make it hard to predict how and when Samuel will be used, but if Stribling misses time, he should see greater involvement. Samuel might be a flex play in Week 2, when the 49ers face off against the Miami Dolphins.

Malik Nabers News

Malik Nabers Active for Week 1 Against Cowboys

Sunday, September 13, 2:54 PM

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) is officially active for Sunday's Week 1 contest against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Connor Hughes of SNY. Nabers had been listed as questionable, and although the Giants' medical and coaching staffs cleared him to play, the former first-round pick made it clear that he would be the one to decide whether he could suit up. In the end, he'll play in this primetime showing against the Cowboys, and he presumably won't have any limitations. Nabers averaged a whopping 10.7 targets per game before tearing his ACL last year, so we'd expect him to have a similarly large role in his return to action. Assuming he isn't playing on a snap count, Nabers ranks as a low-end WR1 against the Cowboys, who allowed the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers in 2025.
