Diontae Johnson Placed On Injured Reserve

Monday, September 18, 6:50 PM

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed wide receiver Diontae Johnson (hamstring) and running back Anthony McFarland Jr. (knee) on Injured Reserve on Monday and promoted running back Qadree Ollison from the practice squad to the 53-man active roster in a corresponding move. Johnson will now have to miss four games after injuring his hamstring in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Pittsburgh also has a bye in Week 6, so the 27-year-old could return in Week 7 in a matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Fantasy managers should attempt to stash Johnson for now, as the 27-year-old should be heavily involved in the passing game once he's healthy again. In the meantime, George Pickens, Allen Robinson II and Calvin Austin III will be the team's three starting wideouts. Tight end Pat Freiermuth should also see an uptick in targets.

A.J. Dillon News

AJ Dillon Posts Pedestrian Line As Starter

Sunday, September 17, 7:52 PM

Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon took 15 carries for 55 yards and added one reception for an additional eight yards during the team's 25-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Drawing the start with Aaron Jones (hamstring) ruled out before kickoff, the 25-year-old averaged just 3.7 yards per carry. It was a golden opportunity for the fourth-year back, but he did little with it and disappointed the fantasy managers who started him hoping for a top-20 fantasy performance. He did handle 15 of the 19 carries given to the running back corps, but the volume did not matter at the end of the day. If Dillon can't be trusted as a flex option when given the majority of carries, he will be tough to trust moving forward once Jones returns. Next week's matchup against New Orleans is one to avoid, making Dillon an easy fade in Week 3.
