Garrett Wilson Brings WR1 Upside Into Season Opener

Saturday, September 12, 7:51 AM

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson returns healthy for Sunday's opener against Tennessee after a knee injury limited him to seven games in 2025. Wilson still caught 36 passes for 395 yards and four touchdowns during the shortened season, and his last full campaign showed the volume he can command. He finished 2024 with 101 receptions for 1,104 yards and seven touchdowns, completing a run of three straight 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career. Geno Smith now takes over at quarterback, with Wilson remaining the clear No. 1 option in Frank Reich's offense. Tennessee allowed 30 passing touchdowns and 8.2 yards per attempt last season, although Robert Saleh has since taken over as head coach. RotoBaller ranks Wilson WR15 for Week 1. His target ceiling makes him a strong high-end WR2 with a realistic path to WR1 production in the opener.

Alec Pierce News

Alec Pierce Underwent X-Rays on Left Hand and Wrist

Sunday, September 13, 3:52 PM

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (hand, wrist) underwent X-rays on his left hand and wrist early during Sunday's Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to Nathan Brown of IndyStar. Pierce was taken to the locker room mid-game for evaluation, but those tests came back negative, confirming that he avoided a fracture after hitting his hand on the helmet of a Ravens defender. Still, Pierce was seen wearing a soft brace after the game, and he'll presumably undergo additional evaluation to determine the severity of his injury and next steps in the recovery process. Pierce finished the season opener with six targets, four catches, and 61 yards. As of now, it's too early to tell whether Pierce might play in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs. If he does, he'd rank as a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3 with substantial volume.
