Hassan Haskins News

Hassan Haskins Could Power His Way into Patriots' RB3 Role

Saturday, August 29, 6:14 AM

Veteran running back Hassan Haskins was a late training camp addition of the New England Patriots, but he has made an impression in his limited time with the team. In Thursday's preseason loss to the Browns, Haskins converted two short-yardage situations through hard running, and Patriots staff writer Evan Lazar believes the team's decision on the third running back spot behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) will come down to style of play. At 6'2" and 228 pounds, Haskins stands out as a physical complement to the two roster locks, but Lazar notes that if the Patriots value versatility and upside, the edge could still go to second-year player Lan Larison. The NFL's roster cutdown deadline is Sunday, and although Henderson's recent ankle injury has been downplayed, there's a chance that whoever earns the team's third running back spot could see more involvement early in the year.

Lan Larison News

Lan Larison the Next Man Up in Patriots' Backfield

Tuesday, August 25, 12:34 PM

New England Patriots running back Lan Larison was the next man up in training camp practice on Tuesday with second-year RB TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) sitting out due to an ankle injury that he suffered on Monday, according to Mark Daniels of MassLive.com. If Henderson is forced to miss the Week 1 regular-season opener against the Seattle Seahawks in a rematch of last year's Super Bowl, Larison appears to be the favorite to jump into RB2 duties behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson. The 24-year-old sat out Monday's practice due to an undisclosed injury, but he was back on Tuesday in an elevated role. The undrafted RB out of UC Davis has looked good this preseason as he battles for a roster spot alongside rookie Jam Miller. Larison has yet to make his NFL debut after landing on Injured Reserve last August with a broken foot that kept him sidelined for the entire 2025 season. He can be ignored in all redraft formats, as it looks like Henderson's injury is not very significant.
