Less than 24 hours after releasing Nathan Peterman, the Chicago Bears have re-signed the veteran quarterback to the active roster. Peterman will presumably be the Bears' backup to Justin Fields in Week 3 against the Buccaneers. Undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent will serve as the emergency quarterback. The 29-year-old Peterman has played in 13 games in his five-year NFL career.

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones completed 31 of 42 passes for 231 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday evening. He added 25 rushing yards but was also sacked five times. Jones looked solid for most of the game, especially in the fourth quarter when he led two touchdown drives and executed a solid two-minute drill before a desperate fourth-down play came up just short. Despite showing some progress under center, Jones should be avoided in most formats as he takes on a dominant Jets defense in Week 3.
