Cam Jurgens Not Playing In NFC Championship

Philadelphia Eagles center Cam Jurgens (back) will not play on Sunday despite being listed as active, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Enquirer. There had been plenty of chatter about Jurgens' status leading up to kickoff, with some reports indicating he'd be inactive. In the end, the Eagles listed him as active, but McLane now reports that he's still not expected to play. Fortunately for Philadelphia, their surplus of offensive line depth will allow them to handle this news without major consequences. Landon Dickerson will move to center, where he played in college, while Tyler Steen takes over at left guard.

Cam Jurgens Active For NFC Championship Game

According to the team, Philadelphia Eagles center Cam Jurgens (back) is officially active for Sunday's NFC title game against the Washington Commanders. Jurgens opened the week as a non-participant but was able to log two limited sessions to end the week but still carried a questionable tag on the final injury report. However, the starting center was able to turn the corner in time to suit up. Fantasy managers should expect Jurgens to see most of the snaps in this contest. However, if he were to face a setback during the contest, Landon Dickerson would likely take over center duties which would force Tyler Steen to shift over to left guard.

Cam Jurgens Returning To Practice On Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles center Cam Jurgens (back) did not practice on Wednesday due to a back injury, but he is returning to practice on Thursday, according to head coach Nick Sirianni. The 2022 second-round pick out of Nebraska has started all but one game for Philly this season, and his return to practice is a promising sign for his potential availability against the Washington Commanders in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. Given the high usage rate of the "tush push" or "brotherly shove" in Philadelphia, the center spot is a critical position for the Eagles offense.

Cam Jurgens Deemed Week To Week

Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Cam Jurgens (foot) is being considered week to week after leaving the Week 4 game against the Washington Commanders early with a foot injury. The second-year guard is the only new starter on the team's offensive line from last year's NFC Championship run. In his absence, 27-year-old Sua Opeta will fill in at right guard. This development shouldn't affect Jalen Hurts, D'Andre Swift, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith too much, but it could weaken the overall offensive line just a bit.
