Chris Boswell: Lands on IR

The Steelers placed Boswell (groin) on injured reserve Thursday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Analysis: Boswell has been sidelined since picking up a right groin injury ahead of Pittsburgh's Week 8 loss to the Eagles. The eighth-year kicker went 12-for-16 on field goals and made all nine of his extra-point attempts over the first seven games of the season, and he is now set to sit out until at least Week 14 against Baltimore. In Boswell's absence, Matthew Wright, who made three of his four field-goal tries and went a perfect 8-for-8 on extra points over two elevations from the Chiefs' practice squad this season, will take over as the Steelers' staring kicker after signing with the team Wednesday.
