Miami Dolphins wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. (head) was evaluated for a concussion during the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 18 loss against the New England Patriots. The game ended before the team was able to provide any additional information on his status. Wease did not return; he finished the contest with three catches for a team-high 44 receiving yards. The 24-year-old put together an impressive end to his rookie season, catching six passes for 139 yards and one touchdown over his final three games. He took on an expanded role with Tyreek Hill (knee) on injured reserve and Darren Waller (groin) and Jaylen Waddle (ribs) suffering late-season injuries. Wease should be in the mix to handle a larger workload during his second pro season next year.

Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. has emerged as a playmaking threat lately, and he could step into a significantly larger role during Sunday's Week 18 contest against the New England Patriots. Wease has three catches, 95 yards, and one touchdown over his last two games, showcasing upside as a big-play option in Miami's offense. This week, he'll likely handle increased volume with Darren Waller (groin) on IR and Jaylen Waddle (ribs) sidelined. At worst, we expect Wease to operate as the Dolphins' No. 3 receiver, but he could ascend higher than Malik Washington or Cedrick Wilson Jr., too. The rookie has played at least 27% of the snaps in each of his last two games, so we know that the Miami coaching staff is looking to get him involved. His big-play upside makes him somewhat of a boom-or-bust option. He could easily get into WR3/flex territory, but he also has a low floor. Managers should only consider starting Wease in deep leagues with at least 14 teams. He has more appeal in DFS formats and prop bets.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. caught a pair of second-half touchdown passes from fellow rookie Quinn Ewers in his team's 24-17 win over the Lions. Wease led the team with 80 receiving yards and tied for the team lead with six catches on his busy Saturday in Detroit. The undrafted rookie receiver out of Missouri and Oklahoma is battling for a roster spot and made a huge statement with his performance in Week 2 of the preseason. The Dolphins' wide receiver corps is very deep, led by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as star starters, with Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Malik Washington rounding out the strong top four. Dee Eskridge and Tahj Washington also appear to be ahead of Wease at this point, with Wease likely headed for the practice squad. However, this huge performance could help him push past one of those options and secure a spot on the 53-man roster. Keep an eye on how the depth chart looks to see where Wease could fit into the team's regular-season plans.
