Darren Waller Ready For Primetime?

Saturday, September 27, 2:04 PM

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said tight end Darren Waller "looks firmly ready to contribute," according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The veteran tight end came out of retirement to sign with Miami, which has treaded cautiously with him prior to making his team debut. Waller, now 33, hasn't played a game in two years after sitting out all of 2024, but looks set to play Monday against the New York Jets. On a Miami offense that has looked lost for most of this year, Waller has an opportunity for targets right away, but his biggest value will likely be in deeper leagues that start two tight ends.

Sean Payton Says Evan Engram Will Play in Week 4

Saturday, September 27, 4:13 PM

Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram (back) will play in Sunday's Week 4 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to head coach Sean Payton. Engram had been listed as questionable and missed last Sunday's game. It has been an underwhelming start to Engram's Broncos tenure, as he has just four catches for 33 yards through two games while playing fewer than 50 percent of the offensive snaps. The Bengals' defense is known for struggling against tight ends, though, so perhaps Sunday will serve as a get-right opportunity for the former Giant and Jaguar. Cincinnati has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points allowed to tight ends, giving Engram fringe top-12 upside despite his current Week 4 ranking as the overall TE23.
