Devin Singletary a Lock to Make the Roster?

Tuesday, July 22, 6:10 PM

If he's healthy, New York Giants running back Devin Singletary figures to be a lock for the final 53-man roster heading into the 2025 regular season, in the opinion of The Bergen Record's Art Stapleton. The Giants won't get any salary cap savings if they were to cut Singletary, and Stapleton thinks that with two young backs on the roster in Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Cam Skattebo, Singletary will be even more valuable on and off the field. The 27-year-old took a back seat to Tracy in 2024 in his first year with the team, carrying the ball 113 times for 437 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games (five starts) after he had a career-high 898 rushing yards the previous season with Houston. Now that the rookie Skattebo is in the fold, Singletary is likely to see his role reduced even further in 2025.

Ty Johnson News

Ty Johnson Back With Buffalo

Tuesday, March 11, 7:01 PM

The Buffalo Bills have re-signed running back Ty Johnson on a two-year deal. The amount of the contract is undisclosed. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported the news. The Maryland product tied his career high with four total touchdowns last season and was a valuable asset on third downs for the team. Johnson played the second-most snaps of all Bills' RBs in 2024 and will likely again slot in as a change-of-pace option and third-down specialist behind incumbent starter James Cook. However, he'll still have second-year back Ray Davis to compete with for touches, and Davis out-carried Johnson 113-41 in just his rookie season. Despite what this means for the team on the field, it's unlikely to make an impact regarding fantasy. The 27-year-old presents as nothing more than a potential low-end handcuff.
