Khalil Herbert Signing With Jets

Thursday, October 2, 12:22 PM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the New York Jets have signed running back Khalil Herbert to an undisclosed contract. Per Rapoport, the team placed running back Braelon Allen (knee) on injured reserve in a corresponding move. The Virginia Tech product was recently signed to Seattle's practice squad, but he'll now add depth in New York's backfield. With Allen out, and backfield mate Kene Nwangwu's (hamstring) status up in the air, it's possible that Herbert will see work right away behind starter Breece Hall and backup Isaiah Davis. The 27-year-old doesn't figure to be slated for a fantasy-relevant role, but he's at least on the deep handcuff radar in case the assets in front of him were to miss any time. The Jets will take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5.

Isaiah Davis News

Isaiah Davis Emerging as Potential Late-Season Sleeper

Wednesday, October 22, 10:43 AM

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis could quietly become a factor down the stretch of the 2025 season. So far, Davis has logged 10 carries for 44 yards and added nine receptions for 73 yards through the air. With Braelon Allen (knee) sidelined after undergoing surgery, Davis stepped in as the RB2, playing 39% of the snaps in his absence. Now, with trade rumors swirling around Breece Hall, Davis' role could expand even further. The winless Jets (0-7) may look to move Hall, who's in the final year of his contract. If that happens, Davis could find himself in line for a much larger workload. Even if New York brings in another back, Davis' fantasy value is on the rise. The Jets face the Cincinnati Bengals, who currently rank as the worst run defense in the NFL, making Week 8 a key opportunity to see how Davis performs with limited touches.
