Xavier Legette Leaves Game in Boot

Friday, August 21, 7:24 PM

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette (ankle) twisted his ankle during their Week 2 preseason victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and left the game wearing a boot. Head coach Dave Canales said Legette injured his ankle, is experiencing foot soreness, and is listed as day-to-day. The former 32nd overall pick is expected to handle the WR3 workload in Carolina, behind Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker, who will rotate ahead of him. If Legette misses time with this ankle injury, wide receivers John Metchie and Jimmy Horn Jr. would take on a larger workload in his place. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should keep an eye on this, since all the Panthers' receivers could be affected if he is out.

Denzel Boston News

Denzel Boston a Stand-Out Performer in Joint Practice on Thursday

Thursday, August 20, 6:12 PM

Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston was his team's most impressive player during a joint practice session with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. The 39th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Boston recorded 62 catches for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns across 12 games at the University of Washington in 2025. Along with fellow Cleveland rookie wideout KC Concepcion, Boston is expected to play a significant role in the Browns' offense right away. While Cleveland's uncertain quarterback situation is a potential limiting factor for Boston's production, the 22-year-old carries significant upside due to his combination of talent and immediate opportunity. He could be a sleeper to target in redraft leagues ahead of 2026.
