Smart drafters know that hitting on one or two late-round sleepers can turn an average team into a championship contender. Here are some wide receivers with potential that have been climbing up draftboards this past week. The data below is based on 12-team standard scoring ADP.
Golden Tate and Sydney Rice
Seahwks' Golden Tate and Sydney Rice have both risen in the rankings following news that Percy Harvin will be out for a few months due to hip surgery. Tate has risen from the 14th round to the late 9th round, while Rice has moved up a round from the 11th to the 10th.
The Giants' Rueben Randle has jumped two rounds in the rankings since the start of training camp. This is his second season with the Giants, and he's looking to build a better rapport with Eli manning, which he's gotten an opportunity to do this week with Hakeem NIcks rehabbing a strained groin.
DeSean Jackson has also jumped a round in the rankings, likely due to the shake-up in the Eagle's offense due to Maclin's injury. He's a smaller player though (5' 10", 175 lbs), so he's still likely limited to a WR2 role in fantasy.
These four guys have been building momentum due to good situations. Sometimes, an opportunity is all that a player needs. Keep monitoring them during training camp to see if they make the most of their opportunities.
