The sixth-year pro continues to impress this summer in a Pittsburgh receiving corps that lacks proven commodities outside of D.K. Metcalf. He made a sliding catch in the second quarter on a deep ball from quarterback Skylar Thompson for a gain of 23 yards. Although there is no guarantee Miller makes the 53-man roster, he has certainly made a stronger case than fellow veteran Robert Woods, who has just one catch through two exhibition contests. The 28-year-old appeared in 13 games with the Steelers last season and has ties to offensive coordinator Arthur Smith dating back to his 2023 campaign with the Atlanta Falcons. He'll look to keep rolling in the team's final preseason bout with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday.

Through two weeks of training camp practices, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Scotty Miller has been the team's wide receiver to stand out the most behind D.K. Metcalf. According to SI's Noah Strackbein, he has outperformed both Roman Wilson and Robert Woods. Calvin Austin III (undisclosed) has missed the last two practices, and the gap between Miller and the rest of the supporting cast has been even more evident. The Steelers' offense as a whole has reportedly struggled throughout camp, with Strackbein reporting that the defense has had the decided edge in nine of the team's first 10 practices. Sunday's practice focused on goal-line work, where the offense scored only twice in their 12 opportunities. Outside of Metcalf, the Steelers' passing game can be avoided except in deep leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told the media that he "can't say enough" about the consistency exhibited by wide receivers Van Jefferson and Scotty Miller this summer. Both receivers were new additions this offseason and appear to have earned some praise from the coaching staff. Jefferson caught 20 passes for 209 yards last year while Miller tallied 11 catches, 161 yards, and a pair of touchdowns. It's unclear exactly what role they will have in 2024, but Tomlin's praise gives them some extra credibility and favor as the Steelers sort through their depth behind George Pickens. With that said, they can both be avoided in fantasy football for the time being.

Former Atlanta Falcons free-agent wide receiver Scotty Miller is reuniting with Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith on an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Smith was the head coach in Atlanta to begin last season before getting fired. In 17 games with the Falcons last year, Miller caught 11 of his 16 targets for 161 yards and two touchdowns. While he will reunite with Smith, the 26-year-old pass-catcher will merely operate as receiving depth in Pittsburgh behind George Pickens, Van Jefferson, rookie Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin III. The 26-year-old speedster has a total of 85 catches on 144 targets for 1,085 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 67 games (eight starts) over his five seasons in the NFL. He was originally a sixth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 out of Bowling Green.
