The Atlanta Falcons plan to target wide receiver Darnell Mooney more often during the 2025 season, according to wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard. "We're going to lean on him a lot more than we did last year and see where that goes," Hilliard said. Mooney impressed during his first campaign as a Falcon last year, catching 64 passes for 992 yards and five touchdowns through 16 games. He was the overall WR31 in PPR leagues despite missing the season's final contest with a shoulder injury. Mooney said he performed well on deep routes last year, and quarterback Michael Penix Jr. acknowledged how difficult he is to cover one-on-one. Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Tre Harris, who was selected with the No. 55 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft last Friday, is expected to fill the team's X position in his first year in the league. Ladd McConkey broke out in his rookie campaign in 2024 in the slot, but the Chargers needed a big-bodied receiver who could stretch the field vertically outside the numbers and threaten defenses with contested-catch ability. That is what Harris does well. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder from Ole Miss had 60 catches for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games in 2024 and should be a nice downfield and red-zone weapon for quarterback Justin Herbert. Given the question marks surrounding Mike Williams and former first-rounder Quentin Johnston, Harris will have the opportunity to be the team's WR2 in his first year in 2025. It's a positive landing spot for an immediate fantasy impact.
